Feel-good, love-of-the-land anthems Canadians devour every summer during our inevitable road trips.

DEBUT SINGLE ‘RUBY’

Blending authentic songwriting with modern indie flare, Driftwood People are forging the path to a new 21st century folk-pop. The Halifax, NS band and moniker of singer-songwriter Braden Lam is one of the most refreshing and engaging acts on the East coast.

Braden Lam (vocals, guitar), Nick Pothier (vocals, bass), Jonathan MacKenzie (keys), and Aaron Hillier (drums) met as university students and began to craft an exciting live experience. Raised in the ever changing landscapes of rural hometowns and city suburbs, the band delivers relatable anthems that embrace a youthful optimism and uncertainty.

Living up to their namesake, Driftwood People spent 2018 on the road touring Atlantic Canada and recording new music. Their debut single Ruby was released in March 2019.

PRESS HIGHLIGHTS

The entire set was sharp and well-polished, and at times his vocal delivery and lyricism reminded me of a less-gruff Frank Turner.
